Roscoe C. Compton is a Beaumont, Texas, resident, historical researcher, speaker, and community educator committed to preserving and sharing the history and legacy of the Buffalo Soldiers.

His interest in the Buffalo Soldiers began in 1983 after hearing Bob Marley and the Wailers’ song “Buffalo Soldier.” That interest grew into a deeper commitment in 2017 when he joined the Buffalo Soldiers Motorcycle Club and began researching their military service, courage, leadership, and lasting contributions to American and African American history.

Through public presentations, educational materials, historical research, and community outreach, Roscoe works to bring the stories of the Buffalo Soldiers to broader audiences and ensure that their achievements are understood, honored, and remembered by future generations.
